I fall victim to choice supported bias due to my childhood decisions that have influenced my adult values. While many examples have occurred, the first was when I was in middle school. I remember vividly buying school lunches and getting my favorite chocolate chip cookies everyday; however, my friends continuously persuaded me to buy their favorite cookies insisting that theirs would taste better. This correlates to the supported bias I chose because although I was aware that they tasted better, I did not want to admit it to them due to the fact that the cookies I bought were my favorite and I held them to a higher value than the other cookies. Now as an eighteen-year old, I experience parallels in my surrounded society similar to what I faced as a child. An example of this is when my friends and I argue over the brands of shoes we wear. Choice supported bias comes into play with this because the brand we hold our opinion on is reflected upon the brand we buy and think looks best. To gather things up, I acknowledge that even though some peoples perspectives on things are agreeable upon, I still value my opinion regardless of whether it reflects how I truly feel or not.

In this book, an Israeli doctor has to face the consequences of not owning up to his actions. The doctors name which is the main character in the story is Eitan Green. He lives in Beersheba because he is forced to move there in regards of a job transfer and one night while he was speeding in his SUV in a remote area he fatally hit an Eritrean man. Panicking on what he should do, he comes to the conclusion that the victim is far to hurt to be helped so he fleas the scene. The next morning, he is met at the door by a surprise visitor. The victim’s widow is at his doorsteps with his wallet in her hands but she didn’t demand for his money, instead she demanded his expertise. This ends up into her blackmailing Eitan to treat illegal immigrants from the northeast of Africa in an abandoned garage turned into a hospital. Ironically, Eitan’s wife is a detective and she is one of the detectives investigating Eitan’s hit and run case. She is really good at her job but even she is unknowing of who the culprit of the incident could be. The thought of it being her husband makes her uncomfortable to the point where she has to look away from him in a scene shared in the review. The author states that she thinks that readers should be exposed to all content including what readers usually try to avoid. In this case, she writes her stories very precise and inclusive about all the little details that happen in her books. I would suggest reading this book if you are looking for a suspense filled story that creates an emotional tension to readers of the book.

 

 

I think there is little to no validity to president Trump’s claim. The reason I say this is because when I searched up Donald Trump’s name on Google, I found information about his general background and profile. I also found some information stating stuff about Trump that were negative but not because google manipulated any search results, it was because they were remarks that trump actually made and some statements from other politicians that were made about Trump that were negative. Most of the information I found on Trump when I searched his name were recent remarks he made and things he has done recently. Therefore, regardless of whether or not a search result is positive or negative about Trump, the information is something that Trump said himself or something that relates to Trump in some way so if what you find about trump is negative it is because he is the one who manipulated the information to be that way.
